PCD Monoblock Face Milling Cutter

PCD monoblock after aluminum sealing leak and ripple rejects from staged-edge seats.

Sealing-flat failure · one-piece rigidity

Leak fixtures reject aluminum flats after periodic ripple

When CMM or dye-check finds a repeating ripple on an aluminum sealing face, process engineering often traces it to staged edge seats. A solid PCD monoblock body removes those seating variables so heat and stiffness stay continuous across the flat.

Leak / ripple symptom board

  • Dye or pressure fixtures reject after the finish face pass
  • Witness lines repeat at a fixed pitch across the Al flat
  • Dial / CMM shows pocket-frequency waviness
  • Op sheet already bans staged seats on the sealing face
Silent cues: sealing-flat ripple, leak reject, CMM waviness, solid vs cassette

Why a solid body answers those rejects

Continuous PCD edges on one body avoid cassette stack-up. Quote when leak/flatness evidence dominates and the face width still fits a solid envelope. Bring spindle interface, balance notes, alloy, and the reason staged seats were rejected.

  1. Spindle interface / balance notes
  2. Face width compatible with a solid envelope
  3. Sealing callouts + alloy
  4. Ripple or leak photos from the incumbent process

Short fork

Wide non-sealing Al decks that need staged edges → PCD indexable face. Ferrous decks → carbide face / shell lanes.

Silent: monoblock vs indexable / carbide lanes

Monoblock FAQ

Is this a spare-edge catalog?

No—orientation is one-piece body after sealing-flat rejects.

Steel sealing decks?

Use carbide face / shell lanes.

Ripple or leak evidence ready?

Monoblock RFQs lead with sealing-flat failure evidence, then interface data.
