PCD Thread Milling Cutter

PCD aluminum thread-form geometry: pitch-diameter and crest profile on Al-Si housings.

Pitch-diameter and crest profile on abrasive aluminum threads

Metric and unified threads in high-silicon aluminum ask for crest durability and a stable PD window while Si grit polishes ordinary edges. This page opens on aluminum thread-form geometry—standard, pitch, class, ID/OD—sized for PCD crests on Al-Si housings.

Feature geometry before shop folklore

EV housings and Al-Si castings need the class held while grit polishes soft crests. Lead with the form envelope: pitch diameter, major/minor as drawn, and whether the crest must stay sharp through long aluminum lots.

  • Prismatic Al bosses with classed internal threads
  • External Al studs where form tools glaze mid-lot
  • Cells already running PCD reamers or PCD squares nearby

Al thread-form FAQ

Is “M10 aluminum housing” enough?

No. Class, depth, alloy, and ID/OD are required before crest geometry is fixed.

Do you stock PCD taps here?

This series is milling cutters for thread forms. Name any alternate process in RFQ notes.

Form envelope ready?

PCD aluminum thread quotes start from pitch-diameter geometry and alloy abrasion.
