Private-label vs OEM/ODM—role differentiation

Private-label (this page)

You sell under your brand. XRZ manufactures to an agreed specification with your labels, packaging and part numbers. Best when brand presentation and replenishment matter as much as geometry.

OEM/ODM

Deeper confidential development or manufacture-to-print for brand owners—see OEM/ODM cutting tools.

Distributor program

If you are primarily a channel partner for end-user applications, start with the distributor cutting tool program; private-label can be added when branding is required.

What to send for a private-label RFQ

  • Target product families (reamers, drills, specials) and markets
  • Logo / label artwork, part-number system, packaging rules
  • Drawings or reference tools for critical SKUs
  • Annual or batch demand band (planning only—not a binding forecast claim)
  • Sample evaluation plan preference

Sample path: brief → sample → brand/packaging release → repeat. Use sample validation when the end application needs measured acceptance, then custom cutting tool RFQ. Tools: PCD reamer · solid carbide drill.
