Flat Bottom Carbide Drill Series — When the Hole Floor Is the Deliverable
Choose this series when blind-hole floor flatness, residual web, or a seating face makes a conventional point the wrong geometry.
Example intents: a pocket floor that must seat a plug, a counterbore-like blind that cannot leave a conical remnant, or a sealing land hit in the same path. Describe the floor requirement in words or a sketch—do not assume “grind any drill flat” is a process.

- Floor flatness, residual cone, or web limits can be stated
- Through-hole breakout with a standard point is not acceptable for the function

- Whether a secondary facing or boring pass already exists

Can any drill be ground flat-bottom?
Not casually. Floor geometry is part of the tool concept—send it in the RFQ rather than assuming a regrind shortcut.
Is this a slotting end mill?
No. This series is carbide drilling with controlled floor geometry. Pocket milling routes to PCD/carbide milling families as appropriate.
Do you publish floor flatness guarantees here?
No fake specs on series pages. Floor class is reviewed from your print and process.
Floor callout on the print?
Flat-bottom RFQs need the floor requirement in writing. Point-angle defaults are the wrong starting point.
